Please find below a list of the most frequently ask questions about the Centre, if you do not find the answers to your question please do not hesitate to contact us.

  

  • How do I get started ?
    Contact the Centre by telephone and speak to a member of staff so we can advise you about membership and help you make a booking.

  • How old do I have to be ?
    You must be age 8 or over.

  • Do I need to be able to swim ?
    Everyone who takes part in any activities must be able to swim (water confident).

  • Do you teach beginners ?
    Yes, we teach people of all abilities depending on their needs.

  • What do I need to bring with me ?
    Everyone who participates in an activity will need to bring the following:-

    Swimming costume
    Old tracksuit etc. ( for the winter )
    T-shirt and shorts. ( for the Summer )
    Trainers or wetsuit boots ( no open toe sandals or flip-flops )
    Wetsuit ( optional )
    Towel

    The Centre will provide the following :-
    Buoyancy aid.
    Windproof cag.
    Wetsuit*
    Helmet

    * Wetsuits will only be provided for Sailing & Windsurfing, only in exceptional circumstances will we issue wetsuit for kayaking or Canoeing.

  • Is there any charge for equipment  ?
    The is no charge for equipment, the price per hour you pay includes tuition and usage of equipment.

  • Are there changing & shower facilities ?
    Yes there are changing and shower facilities with lockers to store you personal belongings.

  • Can I hire a boat and go out on my own ? 
    No, we are not a hire Centre and our insurance and water license do not allow us to let people access the water without one of our instructors.

  • Can people with disabilities participate in activities ?
    Yes, people with disabilities can take part in most activities depending on the individual needs, please advise Centre staff of individuals needs when making a booking.

  • Do you have catering facilities ?
    At the present time we only have vending machines, were you can purchase hot and cold drinks and snacks.
